EASEMENT ENCUMBRANCE ENTERPRISES (GST) ENTITIES (GST) EQUITABLE MORTGAGE EQUITY

EASEMENT A limited right to use a portion of land in a particular way which is available to a person who is not its owner and which is indicated on the title documents. Easements often relate to water or sewerage pipes, electric cables or the like. See also "Right of Way".

ENCUMBRANCE

A charge or liability on a property for example, a mortgage.


ENTERPRISES (GST) Businesses, trades and professions, property investments, real estate leases, bodies corporate under strata title subdivisions and the like, but not hobbies and private recreational pursuits.

ENTITIES (GST) Individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts, superannuation funds, incorporated organisations and unincorporated organisations.

EQUITABLE MORTGAGE An unregistered transfer of an interest in land as a security for the repayment of a loan, as when a certificate of title is merely deposited with the lender.

EQUITY

The stake in an asset available to its owner after allowing for all liabilities relating to that asset.
